The Heart of Delta House's Mission
Delta House L.E.A.A.P. for Success After-school Programs include a wide range of activities and services focusing on the arts, cultural heritage, STEAM, academic achievement focusing on equity and illusion for students and their families, health and wellness, and social well-being.
L.E.A.A.A.P for SUCCESS Programs:
Delta House provides high quality services to students in grades 6-12 and their families. LEAAP (Learning through Expanded Academics and the Arts Program) for Success after-school programs offers academic tutoring, homework, web-based curriculum for building skills, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Students participate in enrichment classes and workshops that encourage positive intervention/prevention activities to address community issues such as the prevention and awareness of alcohol, bullying, drugs, opioids, and substance abuse; mental health crises; and gambling. These programs are designed to help students improve their social skills; improve school attendance; decrease the number of negative behavior incidences; and lessen the achievement gap.
Delta House LEAAP for Success Program is funded in part by a People In Need grant from The Community Foundation of WNC.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES:
ARTS CONNECTIONS: Arts & Crafts, LEAF Delta House Jazz Band, STEAM, and Visual Arts
GIRLS THRIVE for WOMANHOOD: Girls Thrive for Womanhood program, which offers after-school activities and field trips designed to build self-esteem, leadership, appreciation for education and work skills, and a sense of community among girls of color in Asheville.

LEAAP SUBSTANCE FREE YOUTH: The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Awareness and Prevention Program will provide a safe learning environment, giving students strong values, enhancing their self-esteem, and offering them positive group activities and caring, adult role models. (Funded in part from Asheville ABC Board)
Students will be able to achieve academically, creatively, culturally, emotionally, and socially by engaging in enrichment activities including art therapy, jazz band, STEM, and fitness/health activities.
The students have opportunities develop their creative talents, have a sense of pride, improve social skills, exhibit the art work and performing the community. Delta House has provided unique cultural and educational programming, sports, educational field trips, other engaging activities and mini summer camp.
